How My Process Works
All of my job search coaching services start with a 30-minute consultation where we talk about your background, your goals, any challenges you’re experiencing, and what you’d like to get out of working with me. We’ll come up with an action plan for reviewing your resume, writing a cover letter, creating a smartly tailored application for a specific role, preparing and practicing for an interview, optimizing your LinkedIn profile, and/or job search strategizing.
Working with me is a collaborative process. We’ll work together to build application materials that highlight your strengths and expertise in terms of the roles or types of roles that you’re applying to. I am fully flexible and happy to work with you in any way that suits you best.
I provide all my advice in writing, so you’ll have something to refer back to. My goal is to work myself out of a job by equipping you with everything you need to prepare effective application materials and run a successful job search.
Resumes and Cover Letters
Together we will produce application documents that fully showcase your strengths, expertise, and achievements. If you have a specific role or target area, we will customize your documents to highlight your relevant experience and fully demonstrate your suitability for that role.
I will give you honest feedback and advice on what roles you’d be suited to that fits into your goals. And we’ll address any challenges or roadblocks you’re coming up against.
The process usually involves 4 steps:
- Written feedback, suggestions, and advice
- Workshopping the document(s) together via Google Docs and a Zoom meeting.
- Final proofreading and formatting
All of my advice is practical and actionable. I tell you the why and the how of resume and cover letter writing, customized to your circumstances and industry, and leave you feeling confident in your application materials.

We’ll review interview methodologies, workshop your answers to common interview questions, and develop and practice the examples that best illustrate your competency in the requirements from the job specifications.
I’ll guide you through parsing and understanding the job description, researching the organization and the hiring committee, and address any areas you feel unsure about.
I also offer a free interview post-mortem afterwards to discuss what went well and what didn’t and how to improve for the next interview.
These sessions are a deeper dive into your goals, clarifying your strengths, how your experiences fit into your goals, and realistic options and next steps. We’ll dig into any challenges and how to overcome or work with them.
Together we’ll develop a bespoke, practical, and actionable strategy and plan for:
- Researching target organizations and roles that fit in with your experience and goals.
- Where to find the roles you want.
- Insight into how the hiring process works from the hiring manager and organization’s side.
- How to use LinkedIn network, find job openings, attract the right recruiters, and establish yourself as a subject matter expert in your industry.
- Networking and community-building.
- Dealing with the frustrations of job searching, handling rejections, and job search fatigue.
After each session, I follow up with a written summary of our discussion and action points. And whether you choose one session or more, you get unlimited follow-up emails.
All of the services I offer are fully customizable. We’ll work together to create a plan tailored precisely to your needs and circumstances.
